The events are an initiative of the European Logistics Advisory Network (ELAN), a European project without commercial interest, that brings together waterway managers and promotion agencies. The following organisations have joined forces in ELAN:

-  Voies Navigables de France -  Inland Navigation Europe -  Luxembourg Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure -  Panteia (the Netherlands) -  Promotie Binnenvaart Vlaanderen (Belgium) -  Stichting Bureau Voorlichting Binnenvaart (the Netherlands) -  Service Public de Wallonie (Belgium) -  via donau (Austria)

ELAN is a soft measure financed by the European Commission. ELAN’s intention is to test and evaluate the establishment of a European pilot network of logistics facilitators, providing neutral advice in the early and non-commercial phase to potential future customers of inland waterway transportation. This initiative supports the future corridor implementation of the TEN-T guidelines and the Connecting Europe Facility instruments.
