Since 2017, Bastiaan van Berne has been working at Panteia as a researcher and consultant in the field of transport and mobility. Bastiaan is trained as a spatial economist with a focus on transport and environment. At Panteia, Bastiaan focuses primarily on transport modelling, monitoring and the collection-, analysis- and modelling of data in projects related to passenger and freight transport. Bastiaan has experience with traffic studies focusing on calculating the effects of infrastructural changes on traffic and emissions (using the strategic traffic and transport models LMS and NRM). Bastiaan has also gained experience in projects such as the TEN-T Core Network Corridors studies, Short-Term Freight Transport Forecasts, studies on transport flows between the Netherlands and China, Impact assessment on the risk of ‘reverse modal shift’ and Leveraging Big Data to Manage Transport Operations (LeMO).
