Paul is a senior researcher and project manager at Panteia. He has extensive experience with both qualitative and quantitative research, and with research methods such as in-depth interviews, telephone surveys, internet surveys, etc. He has experience with research for national clients as well as for the European Commission. Paul is active on the following areas: Market competition (including competition, tendering, state aid, etc.), Compliance costs and administrative burdens, Payment, Financing of business and Monitoring and company comparison

In recent years Paul has been the project manager of the Dutch team within the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. He is also the project manager of the NVM company barometer (real estate agents) and a monitor on energy saving measures within non-residential buildings. In recent years he has been involved in various evaluations, such as the effectiveness of self- and co-regulation in the context of implementing the Audiovisual Media Services, or AVMS-Directive, the assessment the economic effects of article 10 of the Drinking Water Directive, and on the specialisation of National Metrology Institutes.

Paul graduated in Economics (specialisation industrial economics) in 1987 at the University of Amsterdam. In 2003 he successfully completed the post-graduate course Industrial Organization.
