Maria Rodrigues, graduated as a Master in Spatial Planning Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico Lisboa (IST) - Technical University of Lisbon. Maria has been working in the field of transport and mobility since 2006, gaining considerable experience in the management of National, European and International projects.  She is an expert in EU transport policy, planning and economics, TEN-T policy, TEN-T network and corridors, including in-depth knowledge of TEN-T Regulation 1315/2013, urban mobility (passenger and urban logistics), multimodal transport and transport infrastructure. She has been working mainly for EU institutions such European Commission, European Parliament, ESA, Committee of the Regions, etc in projects covering EU Member States and also Brazil, Peru, Algeria and Morocco. At international level, Maria has also worked for the African Development Bank and World Bank, in projects covering Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and St. Tome, Brazil.

Maria is a senior project manager with experience in project management and coordination of international consortia and projects. Besides project management skills, she has experience in data collection, data and market analysis, evaluation and impact assessment (BRG) benchmarking, business models development, stakeholders engagement and consultation, events organisation, training and capacity building.

She is fluent in Portuguese (mother tongue), English and Spanish.

Currently she is the internal coordinator of the 7 TEN-T corridor studies and working on the studies: New mobility patterns for European cities (DG MOVE, EC), How to relaunch transport and tourism in EU after COVID-19 ( European Parliament), The future of transport in the Recovery Plan (European Parliament), Impact assessment for a possible revision of driving and rest time rules for bus and coach drivers set out in Regulation (EC) NO 561/2006 on driving times, breaks and rest periods of road transport workers (DG MOVE, EC) and UVARExchange – User-friendly information tool on urban and regional vehicle access regulation schemes (DG MOVE, EC).
